Our conservation awareness programmes bridge the gap between local communities and the wild landscapes that surround them, cultivating the next generation of stewards, scientists, and conservationists.

Communities connected to wildlife
By bringing conservation into classrooms, communities, and the bush itself, Thornybush helps create meaningful connections between people and wildlife. These awareness programmes give learners, youth groups, and community elders the opportunity to experience nature first-hand and become ambassadors for the landscapes they call home.

Our flagship youth programme, introducing school-aged children to wildlife, ecosystems, and the importance of conservation in their own backyard. Hands-on field visits, guided wildlife learning, and interactive sessions build a lasting connection to nature.
A residential camp experience blending traditional scouting with conservation skills — tracking, bird identification, and environmental stewardship. Youth return to their communities as junior ambassadors for wildlife.
Wild Shots uses photography as a lens for conservation storytelling. Young participants learn to document wildlife and their environment — developing visual literacy, creative confidence, and a deep-rooted appreciation for the natural world.

We take learners into the bush — many for the first time — for guided game drives that bring classroom ecology to life. Linked to partner schools across the Timbavati, Sigagule, and Uthla communities.

A unique and beloved programme that puts grandmothers at the heart of conservation. Community gogos participate in guided wildlife experiences, bringing traditional ecological knowledge into dialogue with modern conservation
